In 1970, Harry and Stef were married in a small chapel in North Georgia. Interestingly, they later discovered Dolly Parton was married in the same chapel. It's where people who eloped commonly went. They called it a shotgun wedding, and almost everyone agreed it would not last. Harry was a sophomore at Georgia Tech. Stef had just started classes on a music scholarship at Memphis State, playing oboe. Our firstborn arrived 7 months later.

Harry signed up for the Air Force after graduation and attended pilot training. Our next assignment was to a base in the Idaho desert where our middle son was born. A mere 13 months later, our daughter arrived. Their next assignment was to England, where we began our true walk with the Lord. Subsequent assignments were to North Florida, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Harry retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Air Force after 20 years of active duty. He secured a job with Southwest Airlines and flew until mandatory retirement in 2015.
Throughout most of Harry’s military career, Stef's primary job was raising the children. Still, she continued to play and perform the oboe, mostly in church. She also helped make ends meet in various ways, eventually settling on her favorite non-musical career: selling real estate. She worked as a licensed agent in both Nevada and Texas.

Over time, Harry and Stef became empty nesters when their children moved away to attend university. It was then that Stef submitted to the quiet life of intercessory prayer. Over the years, Harry and Stef taught various marriage classes, including traveling across the United States with a well-known Christian marriage ministry. They led a variety of breakout sessions with this group, including Prayer and Bible Study as a couple, sexuality, and conflict resolution.
Harry and Stef love traveling, especially with friends! They visit their children and grands, often taking them to Disney and Universal Studios. Harry and Stef’s travels include Israel, India, New Zealand, some European countries, and Caribbean cruises. They also enjoy attending football games (Go BUCS) and were blessed to attend the 2020 Super Bowl in Tampa.
In 2010, they moved to central Florida's Space Coast. They are both active members in their local church, Faith Fellowship Church Melbourne. Harry and Stef's three children and five grandchildren live all over the country in Seattle, Los Angeles, the Dallas area, the Pensacola area, and locally on the Space Coast.
